= Recipe
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. In a small bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, 0.5 tsp baking powder, 0.5 tsp salt, and 1 cup rolled oats. Set aside.
2. In a stand mixer, beat 9 tbsp butter (room temperature), 0.5 cup light brown sugar, and 0.5 cup superfine sugar until creamy. Add 1 large egg and 1 tsp vanilla extract and beat until smooth. Add the flour mixture and beat until just combined. Fold in 0.75 cup chopped pecans and 1 cup M&Ms or Reese's Pieces by hand.
3. Roll quarter-cup measures of dough into balls and flatten into fat disks about 1/2 inch thick. Place on parchment-lined baking sheets spacing them well apart (about 6 per sheet).
4. Bake 15-20 minutes until risen, dry on the surface, and very lightly browned. They will be too soft to lift initially. Cool on the pan 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
